About OnCall Homes

OnCall Homes connects homeowners with licensed, insured, and reputable contractors for a wide range of home projects. We coordinate schedules, manage communication, and securely handle payments, holding funds until the work is complete and approved. Our goal is to make home repairs and renovations simple, reliable, and stress-free.

You tell us what you need, and we connect you directly with a licensed, certified contractor from our vetted network. You stay in control while we take care of the coordination.

Yes. All contractors we work with are fully licensed and carry the appropriate insurance for their trade. This ensures that every project meets local regulations and protects both you and the contractor in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

We primarily serve  the Greater Toronto Area, but in some cases, we can arrange services outside this region through our extended contractor network. Contact us with your location and project details, and we’ll let you know if we can assist.

Services and Project Types

OnCall Homes connects you with licensed and insured professionals for almost any home repair, renovation, or improvement project. Our network covers, but is still not limited to:

Electrical: Wiring and rewiring, panel upgrades, lighting installation (indoor and outdoor), ceiling fan installation, EV charger installation, troubleshooting and repairs.

Plumbing: Leak detection and repairs, pipe replacement, fixture installation (sinks, faucets, toilets), water heater installation and repair, drain cleaning and unclogging, sump pump installation.

HVAC: Furnace installation and repair, air conditioning installation and repair, ductwork installation and cleaning, thermostat installation, heat pump systems.

Roofing and Gutters: Roof installation and replacement, roof repairs and leak fixes, gutter installation, cleaning and repair, soffit and fascia repairs.

Flooring: Hardwood installation and refinishing, tile installation, vinyl, laminate and carpet installation, heated flooring systems.

Walls and Ceilings: Drywall installation and repairs, plastering, painting (interior and exterior), wallpaper installation and removal.

Kitchens and Bathrooms: Full remodels, cabinet installation, countertop installation, tile backsplash, shower and tub installation.

Windows and Doors: Window installation and replacement, door installation (interior, exterior, patio), weatherproofing and sealing.

Exterior Work and Landscaping: Deck and patio construction, fence installation and repair, interlocking stone and pavers, driveway paving, landscaping design and maintenance, tree trimming and removal.

General Home Improvements: Staircase installation and repair, basement finishing, garage organization and storage solutions, home office setups, insulation installation, smart home system installation.

Emergency Services: Burst pipes, electrical hazards, storm damage repairs, roof leak protection, urgent HVAC failures.

Yes. We can arrange emergency services for urgent issues such as burst pipes, electrical hazards, or severe roof damage. Contact us immediately so we can prioritize your request and connect you with an available contractor as quickly as possible.

Yes. You can request as many services as needed in a single inquiry, and we will coordinate with the appropriate contractors to ensure all parts of your project are handled efficiently.

Start times depend on the type of work and contractor availability. Many projects can start within a week, and for urgent situations, we do our best to arrange same-day or next-day service.

Payment & Security

You pay OnCall Homes directly. We hold your payment securely until the contractor completes the agreed work. Once the job is done, you have 24 hours to let us know if there are any issues. If no complaint is received within that window, we release the payment in full to the contractor. This ensures you only pay for completed and approved work.

If you are not satisfied, you must notify us within 24 hours of job completion. We will hold payment to the contractor while we review your concern, work with both parties to resolve the issue, and ensure the job meets the agreed standard before releasing any funds. Once the 24-hour period expires and payment is released, OnCall Homes considers the job complete and our involvement ends. At that point, any further issues must be addressed directly with the contractor, and we can provide their contact information if needed.

We hold your payment until the job is completed and you have had 24 hours to review the work. If no complaint is lodged within that period, the payment is released in full to the contractor. If a concern is raised, funds are held until the issue is resolved.

We accept all major credit cards, e-transfers, EFTs, Wire Payments, Cash, Bank Draft or Certified Cheque. All transactions are processed through secure payment systems to protect your information.

Note: OnCall Homes does not under any circumstances accept Post-Dated Cheques.

Policies & Protections

No. Our Terms and Conditions state that customers may not bypass OnCall Homes to work directly with contractors we have introduced for the same or related projects for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of introduction. This ensures the integrity of our service, protects our business relationships, and guarantees that you continue to receive our secure payment protection and project oversight.

Yes. We require customers to sign a short service agreement confirming that OnCall Homes will coordinate the project, manage payment, and hold funds until the job is complete and approved. This agreement also outlines our 24-hour complaint policy and ensures all parties understand their responsibilities.

If a contractor fails to arrive at the scheduled time without prior notice, contact us immediately. We will work to reschedule the job as soon as possible or connect you with another qualified contractor. If you choose not to proceed, any payment you have made for the job will be refunded in full.

Yes. If you cancel before work begins, you may be entitled to a full or partial refund depending on whether any costs have already been incurred to schedule or prepare for your job. If you cancel after work has started, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis and may be reduced to reflect the portion of work already completed.

AI & Technology

Yes. We use AI-powered chatbots on our website and AI-powered telephone receptionists to help answer questions, collect service details, and connect you with the right contractor quickly. These tools help us respond faster and ensure we have the information needed to arrange your service efficiently.

When you interact with our AI systems, the information you provide is processed securely through OpenAI, the technology provider that powers these tools. This information is used only to provide relevant responses and coordinate your service request. Some conversations may be stored temporarily for troubleshooting and quality assurance, but all AI interactions are handled in compliance with Canadian privacy laws and OnCall Homes' AI Policy.

Yes. You are not required to use our AI chatbot or AI-powered phone service. If you prefer, you can contact us directly by phone, email, or through our website contact form, and our human team will assist you.

Miscellaneous

Yes. While many of our projects are for homeowners, we also work with businesses, landlords, and property managers to arrange repairs, renovations, and maintenance services.
